COP-30, Belém, Brazil. Effective agreements well below expectations
Abstract
The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the United Nations' largest global event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. In 2026, COP-30 was held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, bringing together world leaders, scientists, and local communities from more than 190 countries. The event was held in the city considered “the gateway to the Amazon” and in the most biodiverse country in the world, promising an exceptional setting for debating and agreeing on meaningful solutions to the global climate problem.Downloads
