Profile and learning process of the epidemiologist

Keywords: Epidemiology, Learning, Global Health

Abstract

The main idea of the present article is to show that epidemiologist itself must try to change or improve the public health and the health care, not only understanding the health-disease process and the associated risks. The analysis must be deeper, comprehending the focus of the epidemiology are complex systems and that a transdisciplinar and different points of view must be the answer, as well as complex inferential statistics, multilevel analysis, among other elements. The epidemiologist permits the development of a critical mind that leads to adopting and learning new and more advanced methods to understand and solve health problems from the population, patients and health systems.
