Abstract

In the field of health sciences, the scientific attitude stands as a guiding principle that transcends the simple use of methods and techniques. Beyond a set of established procedures, this attitude constitutes the core that distinguishes science from pseudoscience. Inspired by philosophers such as Francis Bacon, Karl Popper, and Thomas Kuhn, authors such as Lee McIntyre have emphasized that science is not only based on the search for evidence, but also on a constant willingness to accept uncertainty, subject one's own ideas to critical scrutiny, and revise beliefs in light of new findings. This reflection is particularly relevant at a time when pseudoscience, with its deliberate rejection of standards of evidence and rigor, poses a threat to scientific progress and public health.
