Philosophy and medicine. A proposal to stimulate a connection
Abstract
There are numerous connections between philosophy and medicine. Throughout history, both classical and contemporary examples — including national ones — can be identified. It is therefore reasonable to assert that this relationship is neither hasty nor exaggerated. On the contrary, the connection between medicine and philosophy appears to be meaningful in itself, as both disciplines formally and methodically engage with the human being, albeit in different ways. In fact, proportionally speaking, philosophy and medicine both seek to promote individual and collective care and well-being. This observation invites us to reflect on what links have existed within the context of the University of Cauca and, if such connections have not yet been established, to encourage encounters and collaborative research that make them possible.
