Abstract

Last August 25 was located in the region of the Bolo River, Municipality of Palmira, not far from its mouth in the Cauca River and eight kilometers northeast of Cali, a small colony of nests of this beautiful species of Blue Heron for the first time in the Valley and possibly the first to be positively reported in Colombia. Already before (Lehmann, 1957), in this same publication Nº 3 p. 105, I had pointed out the presence of this species in the meta of the Valley during the whole year, but until then I had not had news of its nesting here, although I had collected young specimens as I have cited them.
