Itinerary of the author during his collections in the region of Santa Marta, Colombia from June 1911 to October 1918
Abstract
In May 1911, the researcher disembarked in Puerto Colombia bound for Santa Marta, starting an ornithological expedition in the Sierra Nevada. After logistical and climatic difficulties, he established his base at Hacienda Cincinnati, from where he collected birds between 1100 and 1550 m asl. He then ascended Cerro Quemado (2515 m), obtaining valuable collections, including three new species. He later explored Mamatoco and made an unsuccessful attempt to climb the northern slope of the sierra in 1912, facing adverse conditions and limited collecting success.Downloads
