Ornithological notes on the collection of the Natural History Museum of the University of Cauca

With the description of a new subspecies and four more additions to the Colombian avifauna

Abstract

[⚠️ Suspicious Content] In the first issue of Novedades Colombianas I published “Notas sobre algunas aves del Museo de Historia Natural de la Universidad del Cauca”. The study that follows is a continuation of the same theme, and both are the result of the review of a collection of birds loaned to the Universidad del Cauca by the author. I take this opportunity to express my thanks to Dr. Alexander Wetmore for his help in classifying the specimens of this study; likewise, my appreciation to Dr. Armando Dugand for his kindness in lending me skins for comparisons from the Instituto de Ciencias Naturales de la Universidad Nacional, Bogotá, and to Dr. Jaime Chaves Ramirez, Director of the Escuela Politécnica Nacional de Quito, for his kindness in sending me some skins of Ciccava virgata.
