Evolución de las Guías CARE para reportes de caso
Resumen
El reporte de caso clínico es un pilar histórico en la medicina, útil para comunicar casos clínicos inusuales, efectos adversos o el uso novedoso de intervenciones terapéuticas. Dentro de los estudios observacionales es el inicio de la generación de hipótesis. Sin embargo, su utilidad científica depende de la calidad, la transparencia y completitud del reporte. El desarrollo de las guías CAse REport (CARE) en 2013, y su elaboración detallada en 2017, representaron un esfuerzo de consenso para estandarizar su presentación, de tal manera que se creen documentos estructurados que permite reseñar la práctica habitual de los clínicos, paso importante para la investigación posterior. Recientemente, la evolución metodológica se ha manifestado a través de extensiones especializadas como las guías Surgical CAre (SCARE) de 2023 (cirugía) y CARE-Radiology 2024 (diagnóstico por imagen). Este artículo tiene como objetivo exponer y analizar la trascendencia de su evolución, destacando cómo el rigor de estas guías eleva la calidad del reporte de un caso como una herramienta importante para la clínica y la investigación.Descargas
