OUR NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM AND THIS JOURNAL
Abstract
If we note the special conditions of our university environment, so distant, until a few years ago, from any contact with the terrestrial Nature, we must agree that the support of a publication such as “NOVEDADES COLOMBIANAS”, implies a true feat of noble and disinterested love for pure science. We could almost say, without making a bold statement, that since the extraordinary work of the Botanical Expedition, promoted by the wise Mutis and continued by Don Francisco José de Caldas and other neo-Granadians, the study of the Natural Sciences had, among us, a recess of many lustrums.
