Report on Colombian reptiles (V)
Observations on the geographic distribution and ecology of the turtle Phrynops geoffroana ssp. in Colombia
Abstract
During several expeditions to the rivers Inirida, Vaupés, Apaporis, Caquetá, Putumayo and Amazonas between 1952 and 1958 I had the opportunity to collect the “Charapa”, a freshwater turtle, which belongs to a genus not reported to date in Colombia. On many occasions, I was able to make observations and observations on different ecological aspects of the “Charapa” which may be useful as a preliminary basis for future research.Downloads
